There is plenty at stake ahead of Sunday's showdown and our tipster is backing Sam Allardyce's team to keep things tight against the Tigers here
Crystal Palace play host to Hull City in a crucial Premier League clash, with top flight survival at stake for both clubs.
Palace looked to have pulled themselves clear of relegation trouble with an impressive upturn in fortunes that saw the Eagles win six of eight Premier League matches - a sequence of results that included victories against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Three successive defeats, however, has seen Sam Allardyce's side sucked back into a scrap for survival and a fourth defeat in a row would leave the Eagles within touching distance of their relegation rivals, with a testing trip to Old Trafford on the final day of the season still to come.
The south Londoners, though, still have their fate in their own hands and, should Palace avoid defeat against Marco Silva's side on Sunday afternoon, they will be assured of a Premier League place next season. Paddy Power offer 21/20 (2.05) that the hosts take all three points, while a draw - good enough for the Eagles - is chalked up as a 12/5 (3.40) chance.
Hull suffered a dismal defeat at the hands of already-relegated Sunderland at KCOM Stadium last weekend - that result, aligned with Swansea City's 1-0 win against Everton at Liberty Stadium saw the Tigers slip back into the Premier League's bottom three.
Silva's side have struggled on the road this term and, indeed, Hull have won just one of their 18 away matches in the Premier League so far this season - a 2-0 win against Swansea in their first away game of the campaign back in August. Indeed, the Tigers have taken just one point from their last six fixtures on their travels in this competition - an away win is available at 13/5 (3.60).
Hull's troubles on their travels must be a cause for concern for Silva and his side ahead of this vital showdown at Selhurst Park. Equally concerning is that the visitors have scored just three goals in their last eight games on the road in the Premier League and there is 17/10 (2.70) that Palace keep a clean sheet on Sunday and 5/2 (3.50) that Allardyce's charges win without conceding.
Hull are hapless on the road and there may be plenty of support for Palace to pick up a vital victory at 21/20 (2.05) ahead of Sunday's showdown.
Better value, however, may lie in backing Allardyce's team to keep things tight - having conceded eight goals without reply in their last three outings, culminating in a crushing 5-0 defeat against Manchester City last weekend, the former England boss will surely demand a disciplined defensive performance from his team this time around.
The 17/10 (2.70) quote on offer from Paddy Power, therefore, for Palace to keep a clean sheet against the toothless Tigers in south London could offer decent value for punters.
