Everton v Watford Betting: Back Toffees to shut out Hornets to get back on winning path again

Date: 12 May 2017 11:43

Our tipster thinks that the Toffees could return to winning ways when they welcome Walter Mazzarri's men to Merseyside in Friday night's fixture

Everton will look to kickstart their campaign when they welcome Watford to Goodison Park on Friday night.

Ronald Koeman's side have suffered a bitterly disappointing dip in fortunes in recent weeks, for the Toffees have taken just one point from their last three Premier League matches, failing to find the net in any of those games.

The men from Merseyside, however, have won eight of their last nine Premier League encounters on home soil and, as such, Koeman's charges are Paddy Power's 2/5 (1.40) favourites to return to winning ways against Watford, with 7/2 (4.50) that this match ends all square.

The Hornets have a wretched record on the road. Walter Mazzarri's men have been beaten in 11 of their last 13 away matches in all competitions, failing to find the net in nine of those defeats.

Watford's only away win of 2017 so far came in north London against Arsenal and Mazzarri will hope for a repeat of that result when his men visit Merseyside. 7/1 (8.0) is available that the Hornets take all three points from this tussle.

Watford have scored just one goal in their last five fixtures and, with both sides misfiring, punters may be tempted to back fewer than three goals to be scored at 11/10 (2.10) while 4/5 (1.80) is available that either side fails to find the net here.

Koeman's men, however, have hit a hugely impressive 28 goals in their last nine home matches in the Premier League, while all but two of the Toffees' last 12 games at Goodison Park in all competitions has yielded at least three goals.

There is just 4/9 (1.44) the Toffees score at least two goals in this game - a selection that would have landed in eight of Everton's last nine home fixtures in this competition - with 8/11 (1.73) that more than two goals are scored when this rivalry is renewed.

Better value, however, could lie in backing the Toffees to take all three points without conceding. Watford have drawn a blank in all but one of their last five fixtures, while Mazzarri's men have failed to make their mark in each of their last eight away defeats in the Premier League.

Paddy Power's 13/10 (2.30) quote, therefore, for Everton to win to nil could offer decent value for punters ahead of this clash.
