Every once in a while, we come across stories of crooks that are too cute to complement their wrong doings. You may even forget about whatever their crime is just to spend a night with them. Crime never looks good, though.
A number of offenders have been considered handsome, beautiful, sharp, dapper and even charming. It’s that charm and beauty that helps them get close to their victims, and sometimes helps them blend in to their community.
With the recent news that a pretty female notorious gangster was gunned down in the capital city, we take a look at the bad and beautiful souls that have hit headlines in recent times.
CLAIRE MWANIKI - Gangster
There is a saying that goes: you get what you see, and for sure if you were to meet Claire, you wouldn’t think even for a split a second that she was a notorious thug who walked around armed with a pistol. Her beauty charm would easily warm your heart and her smile make you feel at ease.
It is for this reason that the sexiest city gangster has been trending for several days now since she was gunned down by police officers after a robbery attempt. Claire, alias Clea Adi Vybz, was killed on Wednesday night after engaging in a gun battle with the officers in Lower Chokaa, Kayole. She was shot in the head and died on the spot clutching her ‘deng’ (sheng for gun). Claire was married to Kayole’s deadliest gangster, only identified as ‘Mwane’, who is believed to be at large. Mwane is the ring leader of the famous Gaza gang in Kayole. He recruited her into the thug life and it is said that Claire would ferry weapons and even hide them for him as a novice before gradually rising to the ranks of a gangster. She is said to have left behind a son sired by Mwane.
RUTH KAMANDE - Miss Langata Prison 2016
Ruth Kamande was crowned Miss Langata Prison in 2016. She came to the limelight in September 2015 for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend 22 times and killing him in a quarrel over text messages.

SAMANTHA LEWTHWAITE - Terrorist
Famously known as the “White Widow”, the Briton is described as one of the Western world’s most wanted terrorism suspects. She got her alias from the actions of her late husband, terrorist Germaine Lindsay, who orchestrated the London 7/7 bombing that killed 52 people Samantha has been a fugitive from justice in Kenya, where she is wanted on charges of possession of explosives and conspiracy to commit felony.
It was alleged that she was the mastermind of the September 2013 Westgate terrorist attack that killed 67 people. Mugshots of her give you the impression of a beautiful charming soul with an infectious smile that you wouldn’t think is capable of hurting a housefly.
SANDRA KHAN - Binti Kiziwi
If you got a fresh memory, then you will recall the bongo flava mega hit ”Binti Kiziwi” that was released in 2007 by artiste Z-Anto. The song was popular in Kenya, made even bigger by the video in which Z-Anto confesses his undying love to the deaf lady (Binti Kiziwi), who was portrayed by the gorgeous video vixen Sandra Khan.
It turned out that it was not only a song but a true story, as Z-Anto ended up falling in love with Sandra, though she isn’t deaf, the character she portrays as a vixen. The love between the two did not last, with Sandra turning into a drug dealer. In July 2013, the cute Sandra was arrested at the Hong Kong airport trying to sneak in cocaine. She was jailed for five years in China, a prison term that ends next year.
DAVID WILLIAM TETT – Former Ministers’ Son
David Tett would pass for a hunk that most ladies would love to date. The son of former assistant minister Betty Tett was sentenced to death in 2013 for violently robbing his foster father William Mulready on September 6, 2011.
But he appealed the ruling by Chief Magistrate Kiarie Waweru, saying the judgment was based on inconsistent and contradictory evidence.
